I am still checking off a big list of places I have wanted to visit since lockdown. When I was sharing all the museums I had visited, I was finding some I never knew about. There is a website called Artshomes.org and it ends up there are 36 Homes and Studios federally funded across the United States. And, there is one right here in Ocean County. There was an excellent presentation yesterday by Jim Inzero. He is a local artist with a gallery in Point Pleasant. I didn't actually get to see the show he is featured in called "WaterWater Everywhere". It will be open until October 8th. I am looking forward to going back. It is only open on weekends, and I don't like traveling the shore when traffic is high. But, the show looks amazing and I can't wait to tour the Studio and home of John F. Peto. He was a master of trompe l'oeil (tricks the eye to look real). He died in 1907. The gardens are beautiful and the house was restored for the public's enjoyment. I had never been to Island Heights before either. And, it is truely magnificent. Hope to get down there more and look into the Ocean County Artists' Guild, also. I feel like I have just dipped my foot into how amazing this area is to the arts and heritage. There was a great magazine I also picked up. It is called Ocean County Out and About. Between the shore and Princeton area there is a LOT going on. I am so happy to finally have the time to really enjoy it. I am learning and growing and it makes me feel younger! Life is teaching me how brave I have to be, even in retirement. I really thought I would have more control of my life. Decision making would become easier. I am not learning the hard way. I am enjoying the process But, the hardest lesson I learned this past year is I don't have control over anything. And my motto has always been if the going gets tough, the tough gets going The problem is I am a softy, a sentimental, sensitive, multi-faceted soft human being. Who just so happens to want to be as strong and brilliant as a diamond. Luckily, I took a complete day for myself in Princeton yesterday I had one day with interaction with others, viewing an exhibition I am part of, visiting my favorite stores, eating lunch in a french tea room, going to a movie and walking a labyrinth. The Little One

In 2020 the first post I did was to celebrate the four year old me. I finally feel like I can put myself back in that place again. But, look forward to all that is ahead of me. This year of not working was clearing my mind, heart and soul. I felt in order to do that, I had to feel everything. Think about the past and feel it. And, it was wonderful. But, I realized how long, naturally, I have been talking to myself, unkindly. So, it has been a process. A process I have taken great pride in. I listened to what makes me happy and peaceful. If it made me nervous, I did it anyway. But, when it came to feeling vulnerable, I took a step back. Trust of others is my biggest issue. And, it is still something I am dealing with. Well, golly gee!!! how lucky can I be? I get to write again about how resillient and strong I can be!!!! Sounds pretty sarcastic, but it really is not. I am just as surprised as you are going to be when you read what I have just been through. A year ago I noticed a strange pain in my arm. I looked at my back to see if there was anything unusual. And, there was a growth, I never saw before. And, through the weeks and months to follow, it would bleed. I didn't know whether the black it was turning was a scab or something to worry about. Since, I am on this journey of not letting my worry and concern overcome my way of thinking. I just went with the thought of getting myself together financially after leaving my job. I filled out forms. I applied for anything and everything to make sure I was financially secure.
